Elementary Bahasa Indonesia course or ‘Pemula 2’ is designed for you to continue your Indonesian learning journey to the next level. Most of the contents of this course is still considered colloquial Indonesian. The topics are still taken from daily settings such as shopping, weather, people’s descriptions, health, and so on. You will also be introduced to semi formal Indonesian in the form of simplified authentic articles.
Level Description
For our Indonesian proficiency leveling, we use Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as our guideline. Here is the level description for Elementary Bahasa Indonesia Course (Pemula 2) or A2:
‘Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.’
Elementary Bahasa Indonesia Course Prerequisite
To take this course you need to complete Indonesian for Beginner or have at least 60% overall score on our Indonesian Placement Test.
Duration
It takes approximately 30-50 hours to complete this course. Group classes might take longer than this. The package will start at 30 hours and you can take more hours if you wish.
